Myanmar quake: Rescuers recover survivor trapped for 5 days; heat and rains fuel disease risk

A team of Chinese rescuers pulled a survivor from the rubble of a collapsed hotel in Mandalay, Myanmar on Thursday (April 3), more than 120 hours after a deadly earthquake devastated the country.

Meanwhile, global aid bodies warned that extreme heat and heavy rain the country could cause disease outbreaks among earthquake survivors camping in the open, complicating rescue efforts made difficult by a civil war, as the death toll surpassed 3,000.
