18 cops and army personnel nabbed for being in cahoots with human trafficking syndicates

Police scored a major coup in their fight against human smuggling syndicates with the arrest of 18 enforcement personnel, including one with the rank of Assistant Superintendent. Following the arrest of 40 members of a human smuggling syndicate on June 4, Johor police chief Comm Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said police launched another operation between June 15 and June 18 which led to the arrests of the suspects, aged between 24 and 41. He added that 13 are from the police and five from the Armed Forces.
