60,000 aid scheme slots still open to flood-hit padi farmers, Dewan Rakyat told

Approximately 30,000 padi farmers registered under the Padi Crop Takaful Scheme (STTP) are eligible for RM3,000 in compensation for losses incurred during the recent floods, says Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.

Speaking during the Minister’s Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat on Thursday (Dec 12), the Agriculture and Food Security Minister emphasised that the STTP is designed to safeguard padi farmers against risks such as floods, reflecting the government’s proactive approach to agricultural risk management.

He urged more farmers to enroll in this vital support scheme, noting that 60,000 slots are still available.
