An academic who heads a project on liver fluke, which is a type of parasite, and bile duct cancer, is warning the public against consuming fish that has been fermented for less than a month.
He claims that parasites can still be found alive in the fish in that duration.
The academic is urging the country to pass a law that bans the sale of these fishes as these parasites cause cancer in the bile ducts.
