Age not a barrier for youngest MP

PKR’s Batu MP, P. Prabarakan who is the youngest member of Parliament, on Monday said his age is not a barrier in being able to serve his constituency. The 22-year-old broke the 41-year-old record set by former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak when he became the youngest MP at the age of 23 after winning the Pekan parliamentary seat. In GE14, Prabakaran polled 38,125 votes to beat BN’s Dr Dominic Lau Hoe Chai, PAS candidate Azhar Yahya and Independent candidate Datuk V.M. Panjamothy.
