Agong opens first session of 14th Parliament

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong opened the first meeting of the first session of the 14th Parliament on Tuesday, marking a significant point in history as Malaysia is being led by the new Pakatan Harapan Government. Sultan Muhammad V, drew cheers in the Dewan Rakyat when he jokingly advised lawmakers to “sit down and do not run” as he prepared to deliver his royal address. Parliament will sit for 20 days until Aug 16.
