Ahmad Maslan pulls out of the running to be Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker

Pontian MP and Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan has withdrawn from the running to be a Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker, saying that he was withdrawing his candidacy so that he would be able to devote more time to party matters.
Ahmad told a press conference in Parliament that on Thursday, and when asked who will be replacing him, he kept mum, only saying that there were "one or two names" and insisted that the candidates must be from Umno.
