Anwar announces RM1.5bil interim payment to Sarawak

Sarawak’s interim special grant under Article 112(D) of the Federal Constitution will be increased to RM1.5bil, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Speaking at the Malaysia Day celebration in Kuching on Wednesday (Sept 16) night, Anwar said the Federal Government would continue negotiations with Sabah and Sarawak to finalise the annual grant formula.
He also expanded the Budi Diesel quota transfers, and RM500 one-off flight assistance for students travelling between the peninsula, Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan to begin studies at public higher education institutions.
