Anwar defends RM600mil heritage investment amid opposition criticism

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has hit back at the Opposition, calling them “ignorant” over claims that Khazanah Nasional Berhad’s RM600 million allocation to restore heritage buildings, including Carcosa Seri Negara in Kuala Lumpur, was wasteful.
Speaking at the Finance Ministry’s monthly assembly on Wednesday (Oct 15), Anwar said the investment was intended to preserve and revitalise national heritage, not squander public funds.
