Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has ordered Felda's management to explain its proposed sale of a hotel in the United Kingdom at a £60mil (RM329.9mil) loss.
Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, said he refused to approve the sale after learning the hotel, bought for £160mil (RM879.9mil), was to be sold for just £100mil (RM549.9mil).
He said such a loss was unacceptable when many Felda settlers still faced financial hardship, adding that a full report was needed to protect Felda's integrity and long-term financial health.
