PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim told a ceramah in Melaka Tuesday night that he met with the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong in Kelantan to resolve the crisis over the appointment of Tommy Thomas as the next Attorney-General after a near two-week impasse. He said he assured the King, Sultan Muhammad V, that there was no need to be concerned over the status of Islam and Malay rights as provided for in the constitution. A palace official later issued a statement on behalf of the King of his consent to appoint Thomas.
