Still buzzing from the weekend's Formula One excitement, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Malaysia "hardly paid anything" to host the Bahrain Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC).
Speaking at the opening of the Khazanah Megatrends Forum 2026 in Kuala Lumpur on Monday (Oct 5), Anwar said the government carried out only minor repairs and improvements at the circuit.
He also described the event as a success, saying it drew more than a quarter of a million spectators as F1 returned to Malaysia for the first time in nine years.
