Aussie grandma escapes the noose for drug trafficking in Malaysia

Australian grandmother, Maria Elvira Pinto Exposto escaped the death penalty on Wednesday after the Shah Alam High Court found her not guilty of drug trafficking and that she had fallen victim to an online romance scam. The 54-year-old was found with 1.5 kg of methamphetamine in her backpack while in transit at KLIA enroute to Melbourne from Shanghai in December 2014.
