Mobile vendors are proving to be a pest in Pattaya, Thailand with many tourists and residents filing complaints with the authorities over their persistent soliciting.
These vendors are not allowed to erect stalls in many areas within this tourist resort town in Chonburi following a strict enforcement of the law which aims to maintain tidiness on sidewalks and public areas across the country.
However, this has resulted in the rise of mobile vendors who would walk around bus terminals near the famous tourist spot Bali Hai pier and approach tourists randomly with their goods.
Tour operators are claiming that this has negatively affected their businesses.
However, video footage shows no signs of them being a nuisance to tourists.
Despite this, the local authorities said they will look into the complaints received and figure out the solution to the issue of struggling vendors and its negative impact on tourism.
