An owner of a bamboo plantation in Songkhla, Thailand has been offering nearby communities free bamboo shoots for their personal consumption.
Owned by Sanya Watcharaphan, the 3.2-hectare bamboo sanctum plays many roles in the community, acting as a playground for children, a free campsite for the public and even a seminar venue.
Watcharaphan said he would like the area to serve as a knowledge centre for nearby communities to learn how to grow and earn an income from growing the gramineous plant.
