Oversized women were given the opportunity to shine, do good for the country and help Thailand's elephants through the annual Jumbo Queen beauty pageant.
Held in Nakhon Ratchasima, all proceeds from the competition went towards elephant foundations in Thailand and efforts to boost tourism in the kingdom.
The competition saw some 40 women and transgenders who weigh between 85kgs and 140kgs participating.
The competition makes light about participants’ size and compares them to elephants, albeit, endearingly.
The stage is even decorated with elephant food including bananas, sugarcane, cucumbers, pineapples, watermelons and corns.
A 25-year-old woman who weighs 103kgs was recently crowned Ms Jumbo Queen.
She received Bt10,000 (US$290) worth of prizes.
