BNM: Malaysia records 5 percent GDP growth in q1 2022 as economic activity normalises

Malaysia's economic growth picked up pace in the first quarter and was likely to accelerate further this year amid sustained demand and the reopening of international borders, the central bank said on Friday.
Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) governor Tan Sri Nor Shamsiah Mohd Yunus said that on Friday, added that although the downside risks have risen on the global front, BNM is confident of the country’s growth trajectory and does not see a risk of any recession in Malaysia.
