Bodhi trees are significant to Buddhists as Gautama Buddha was said to have obtained enlightenment under the sacred tree.
However, an acting abbot of a temple in Lampang, Thailand was surprised to find a pink tinge on the leaves and trunk of a young bodhi tree.
The tree is not only drawing worshippers but lottery punters who are hoping to extract "lucky numbers" from the tree.
It is not known whether someone had planted the tree or if it had sprouted on its own.
