Botanical garden welcomes baby elephant

Staff and visitors at the Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden in Chonburi, Thailand has recently welcomed a newborn elephant.
Named ‘Plai Ang Pao’, or red envelope, the newborn even received cash from visitors.
It is customary in Thailand to give money on special family events, including weddings and Chinese New Year.
The baby elephant was born to a 19-year-old female elephant and a 36-year-old male elephant.
A local temple's abbot even blessed the elephant with what was believed to be sacred water.
