Boy, 11, dies in hospital after being pulled from river in Manggatal

An 11-year-old boy found unconscious after being swept away by river currents while fishing at Sungai Rampayan in Manggatal died in the hospital shortly after being taken there.

Kota Kinabalu City OCPD Asst Comm Kasim Muda said Muhammad Hamizan Aqil Ahmad received CPR at the scene at 4.17pm on Wednesday (May 14) and was rushed to the Likas Women and Children’s Hospital, where he passed away at 5.46pm.
