BTN and National Service abolished

The National Civics Bureau (BTN) and National Service Training Programme (PLKN) has been abolished with immediate effect, Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman announced on Monday. He said the decision was made last week at the Cabinet meeting which found that PLKN and BTN had been misused for the purpose of the indoctrination of certain beliefs. He also told reporters that a new pioneer project aimed at creating "the youth of the future" will be set up following the abolishment of the two programmes.
