Budget 2027: Govt plans bill to prevent public fund scandals

A state-owned entities bill will be drafted to tighten governance of entities entrusted with managing public funds and assets.

Tabling Budget 2027 on Friday (Oct 9), Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the bill will cover government-owned companies and statutory bodies to prevent a recurrence of scandals such as those involving 1MDB, Tabung Haji and Felda.
