Budget 2027: PTPTN defers repayments for borrowers earning RM2,500 or less

PTPTN loan repayments will be deferred in 2027 for borrowers earning RM2,500 or less a month, while those earning between RM2,500 and RM3,000 will pay a minimum of RM50 monthly.

The measures are expected to benefit more than 400,000 borrowers.

Tabling Budget 2027 on Friday (Oct 9), Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also announced an expansion of student food aid to polytechnics and teacher education institutes, and an increase in FlySiswa Madani flight assistance to RM500 from RM400, benefiting more than 60,000 students.
