Cabinet approves penal code amendments to address cyberbullying, says Fahmi

The Cabinet has given in-principle approval for amendments to the Penal Code and Criminal Procedure Code related to cyberbullying on social media, with the corresponding bill expected to be tabled in the current Parliamentary session, said Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.

Speaking at a press conference after the Cabinet meeting on Friday (Oct 25), Fahmi, who also serves as the Unity Government’s spokesman, highlighted that these amendments are essential to closing gaps or 'lacuna' in the law, enabling stronger action against cyberbullies.
