Cabinet to consider recommendations to amend the mandatory death sentence

Recommendations to amend the mandatory death sentence, especially involving drug trafficking offenses, will be brought to the Cabinet for consideration and approval, said Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan.
The Minister in the Prime Minister's Department told the Dewan Rakyat on Thursday, adding that the report submitted by the special committee to review alternative sentences to the mandatory death penalty was received on July 17.
