Cable theft hits northern KTM and ETS ahead of Hari Raya Haji

Train services in the northern corridor were thrown into disarray after thieves stole approximately 100 metres of cable at KM95.8, between Sungai Siput and Kamunting, in the early hours of Tuesday (May 26).

The theft knocked out the signalling system along the route, causing delays of between 23 and 40 minutes for Northern KTM Komuter services, and between three and 90 minutes for all ETS trains passing through.
