A female staff of Watchdog Timer recently met with policemen in Chonburi to launch an awareness campaign calling for the immediate halt to consumption, trade, culling or poisoning of dogs.
The woman also pleaded with the police to pay greater attention to the well-being of dogs and to keep an eye out for any kind of abuse towards them.
She also condemned the act of businessmen who offer eggs or new plastic kitchenware in exchange for live dogs.
A senior policeman assured the woman that the police would carry out their duty in enforcing the law against animal cruelty.
