Car honk riles elephant, stomps bonnet, five escape unhurt

Five people escaped unhurt after their car was attacked by an elephant on the East-West Highway near Gerik, Perak on Sunday (Aug 2).
In the 7pm incident, the elephant was said to have stomped on the car's bonnet after it was spooked by the car horn by another vehicle behind.
Perak Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) director Yusoff Shariff said motorists plying the road should be patient and not use their high-beam lights at night and also not to honk in their attempt to drive away elephants.
