The Prime Minister questioned the statement of counsel Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, who claimed that the defence had not deliberately delayed the trial of Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Speaking to the press after the Perdana Leadership CEO Forum 2019 on Thursday, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad considered the delay in continuing the proceedings on the trial concerning SRC International Sdn Bhd, lasting almost six months, as something unusual.
He added that If the case is of strong public interest, it should be heard as soon as possible.
