Chicken prices: Daily checks to ensure seller compliance

The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry will continue to conduct daily inspections at 120 wet markets, supermarkets, hypermarkets, grocery stores and mini markets across Kuala Lumpur to ensure seller compliance, especially on chicken prices.

The ministry's Kuala Lumpur director Ariffin Samsudin told reporters after inspecting the Chow Kit market with officials on Wednesday (Nov 1) that this was to ensure there was no sudden hike following the government’s decision to discontinue subsidies and price controls on chicken.
