China's Guangxi battered by Typhoon Maysak, Nanning on top alert

Typhoon Maysak has spread to other parts of southern China after making landfall in Hainan province on July 3, wreaking havoc to communities and causing massive floods that forced thousands of people to be evacuated.
The high water levels in rivers and reservoirs prompted authorities in Nanning in the Guangxi region to raise their flood control response.
