Chinese schools funding stirs debate

Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik has promised that the Finance Ministry will now look into funding for Chinese independent schools, a day after a written reply in Parliament stating that there would be no such monies. MCA deputy president and Ayer Hitam MP Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong questioned the Education Ministry’s flip-flop over funding for the Chinese independent schools in Malaysia. He also raised the question about the Government's efforts in getting the Unified Examination Certificate recognised.
