Citizenship backlog to be resolved by end of Q1, says Saifuddin

The backlog of longstanding citizenship applications is expected to be resolved by the end of the first quarter, according to Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

With fewer than 4,000 cases remaining, Saifuddin said applications pending for five, 10, and even 15 years will be resolved by the first quarter.

He made the announcement following his ministerial address at Dewan De Seri Endon in Puspanitapuri, Putrajaya on Thursday (Jan 8).
