Covid-19 daily testing: Incomplete data lead to low numbers, says Health DG

The Health Ministry is not getting full data from private health laboratories offering Covid-19 testing in the country, resulting in the daily low numbers, said Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah on Monday.
The Health director-general however assured the public that there are sufficient public and private health laboratories that are standardised under the Public Health Lab Information System (SIMKA) to carry out the tests.
Meanwhile, Dr Noor Hisham also said his ministry does not provide free blanket testing of Covid-19 but instead is taking a targeted approach, especially for cases in which the patients are designated as under investigation, as well as Malaysians returning from abroad.
