Covid-19: Govt to study new act on elections

The government will be studying a proposal to formulate a specific act involving the process of elections to curb the spread of Covid-19, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Functions), Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof told the Dewan Rakyat on Monday (Nov 2).
He said it cannot be denied that elections such as the Sabah state election in September which involved large gatherings have resulted in a spike of Covid-19 cases in the country.
