Covid-19: No need for panic buying for Deepavali, says Health DG

There is no need for panic buying for the upcoming Deepavali celebrations as shops are allowed to open, says Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The Health director-general said that on Monday, adding that such a phenomenon would only cause big crowds to come out, which in turn would expose people to the risk of Covid-19 infection.
At a question-and-answer session with the press, Dr Noor Hisham was asked to comment on the large number of people doing Deepavali shopping at hotspots like Brickfields in Kuala Lumpur.
