Customs bust attempt to smuggle baby turtles, meth at klia2

The Customs Department seized more than 5,000 smuggled terrapins at klia2 last week.
Central Zone Customs assistant director-general Datuk Zulkurnain Mohamed Yusuf told the media on Wednesday that two Indian nationals were caught travelling with 5,255 red-eared sliders, a semi-aquatic species of turtle, in baskets within their luggage.
In an unrelated case, the department also arrested two drug smugglers who attempted to bring in their illicit goods via hidden compartments in their luggage.
