Deputy minister apologises after claiming student YouTuber lied for views

Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin on Thursday claimed that student and YouTuber Veveonah Mosibin, who found fame after taking her examination on a tree, lied for views.
In the Dewan Negara, Zahidi said there was no exam period when the student recorded her YouTube video titled “24 Hours On Tree”.
He added that viewers should not be easily fooled by YouTubers like Veveonah. But hours later, he retracted his statement and apologised to Veveonah.
