China's U.N. Ambassador, Zhang Jun has expressed shock at allegations of UNRWA staff misconduct but urged member states not to let individual cases distract them from pursuing a ceasefire in Gaza.

He underscored the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the region and the crucial role of UNRWA in alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people.
