Dr M: Govt mulling new laws to regulate gig economy as well as to protect independent workers

New laws are being considered to regulate the growing gig economy to protect independent workers such as Foodpanda riders, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad told the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister said this was necessary, as there are currently no laws to regulate the gig economy and protect independent workers.
He was replying a supplementary question raised by Bagan Serai MP Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali.
