Dr M on why Saudi king is absent from KL summit

King Salman Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia disagrees with using the Kuala Lumpur (KL) Summit 2019 to discuss Muslim issues, says Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in explaining why yet another Muslim leader has skipped the event.
The Prime Minister told reporters that after cancelling his appearance at a dialogue session with the youth to hold a video conference call with King Salman at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) on Tuesday.
On the absence of Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan, Dr Mahathir said that he could have his own reasons and that his presence could not be forced.
However, he dismissed allegations in Pakistani news reports that Imran cancelled his trip following pressure from Saudi Arabia.
