Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will not be attending the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam)’s Human Rights Day celebration on Sunday (Dec 9).
Dr Mahathir explained that this was because the government had already decided against ratifying the International Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (Icerd), which was in contrary towards Suhakam’s stand on the contentious issue.
He told reporters after the Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting on Saturday.
