Dr Noor Hisham: Surge in daily Covid-19 cases due to backlog in Sabah

Public health officials’ rush to clear the backlog of patients awaiting for Covid-19 results is a factor behind’s the country’s sudden increases of daily positive cases reported in Sabah, said Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The Health Director-General said that on Sunday, adding that the backlog has been cleared and reiterated that Sabah is capable of conducting about 2,600 reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests daily.
Dr Noor Hisham added that some 100,000 RTK (rapid test kit) antigen tests had been delivered to Sabah to help the state manage the surge in Covid-19 cases.
