Duterte meets Bangkok’s Filipino community

The Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte received a rousing welcome by some 2,000 members of the Filipino community at the Thai Royal Navy Hall in Bangkok, Thailand during the last night of his official visit to Thailand last week.
The Filipinos who registered for this special occasion were clear supporters of the 71-year-old.
Duterte discussed many issues amongst his countrymen, including drugs and corruption, in which he vowed to continue to eradicate, adding that he is accountable to the Filipino people.
He also made crude jokes and comments about his political opponents and critics which garnered cheers from the crowd.
Some 16,000 Filipinos are estimated to reside in Thailand.
