Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin on Tuesday said restaurants can opt to build designated smoking areas via their local councils at their own expense.
She said the move was to satisfy the smokers and show that the government was concerned with their plight while encouraging smokers to comply with the no-smoking policy.
