ECRL extension to bring foreign workers approved to avoid interruption, says Saifuddin

The extension to bring in foreign workers for the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project was approved to prevent any interruptions in its progress, said Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
Speaking at a joint meeting between the Human Resources Ministry and the Home Ministry on Migrant Workers Management on Monday (May 20), the Home Minister announced that the project contractor, China Communications Construction (ECRL) Sdn Bhd, will be allowed to extend the deadline to bring in foreign workers beyond the original May 31 cut-off due to the ECRL project's high impact and time-sensitive nature.
