Electricity rebate extended till Dec 31, says Takiyuddin

Domestic users will continue to enjoy a two sen per kilowatt hour (kWh) electricity rebate until year-end as the government has agreed to foot a subsidy bill of over RM5bil for the second half of the year.
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan told the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday (July 20) that the surcharge for non-domestic users will continue to be at 3.70 sen/kWh, which is lower than the actual rate of Imbalance Cost Pass-Through (ICPT) which is at 11.81 sen/kWh.
