Fahmi calls for stricter controls to keep minors off social media to curb online pedophilia

The government is considering new regulations to ban children from registering on social media platforms as part of efforts to combat online pedophilia in the country.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday (Aug 10), Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil voiced concern that social media platforms are not doing enough to prevent children under 13 from creating accounts.
Fahmi urged parents to closely monitor their children's online activities to keep them off social media and reduce the risks of child sexual exploitation.
