Family has to prove Altantuya’s killing all over again in civil suit

Section 43 of the Evidence Act stood in the way in the civil suit filed by the family of slain Mongolian model Altantuya Shaariibuu. The Shah Alam High Court on Monday ruled that evidence from the murder case, which found two police officers guilty, cannot be used in the civil case as the court is bound by Section 43 of the Evidence Act which restricted the court from relying on the criminal conviction.
