Just hours after being announced as Barisan Nasional's candidate for the Mahkota by-election, Syed Hussien Syed Abdullah was hit with devastating news about his father's health.

In a statement on Facebook on Sunday (Sept 8), the Kluang Umno division youth chief said that his father has been placed in an induced coma.
